Legislators Provide Columbus Health Insurance for Residents

Legislators make it a point to include health care for the residents in Columbus as part of their health care programs. The programs aim to provide health insurance to residents who are not insured from small business employers as well as those who can't afford paying the health insurance rate from health insurance private. As most consumers fight for health insurance coverage for the 1.3 billion uninsured in the state, there are expanded alternatives to provide the needed Columbus health insurance. One alternative include partnership of public and private sectors that encourage insurance companies to establish affordable health insurance rate for health individual insurance plans and family health insurance plans that will benefit uninsured individuals and families alike.

Another alternative is to develop reinsurance programs that could be funded by the state aiming to uninsured high risk residents. The reinsurance program could provide free enrollment and tax credit to low income residents. Because of the strong voice of consumers and the support of the private sector on adequate Columbus health insurance and in Ohio as a whole, enhancement of health care system in Ohio is being worked out.

However, as medical costs increase every year, Columbus health insurance provider is also trying to catch up with government facilitated health insurance programs. One of the largest Medicaid provider for child health insurance and basic adult health insurance, Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, is dismissing 145, 000 families under Medicaid in Ohio and 39, 000 in Central Ohio. This is because the said insurer experienced substantial loss in year 2007 and is expecting to deepen such loss because they can't catch up on the health insurance rate that was cut down to support child health insurance and adult health insurance under Medicaid program. Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, however, continue to cover the elderly and disabled. Fortunately, two insurance providers, Molina healthcare Inc. and Caresource Inc. is waiting to step in to provide the needed government facilitated Columbus health insurance program. The two insurers consider Medicaid as opportunity for their company's growth.

As Columbus health insurance can also be provided by the government, residents who can't get health insurance from out-of-pocket or from employers need to check if they are qualified for the program. Certain eligibility is required mostly on income and family size. As soon as they find that they are eligible, then they can readily apply for low cost health insurance.

Indeed, Columbus health insurance is sought after by residents as it provides them the needed individual and family health care for better living. With the rising cost of doctor's fee, check ups, laboratory examination, hospital services for in-patient and out-patient, and emergency services, it would be hard to catch up paying for these services without investing on health insurance while able. Without health insurance, residents tend to visit doctors and hospitals only during emergency cases or when the illness is already serious because they mostly avoid costs for regular check up and health monitoring. Otherwise, with health insurance, they can get health insurance services that would prevent illness such as regular physical checkup, dental care, vision care, and other preventative and health monitoring services.
