Car Insurance Perks and Extras

Car insurance companies are now offering a wide variety of perks, extras, and of course, what appears to be low rate incentives. You have additional coverage available for just about any situation while you are granted lower rates for going long term accident free. Do these car insurance perks really add up or are they simply methods of getting you to switch your car insurance company?

Truth be told, many car insurance companies offer perks that only look good at the onset of the term. Once you either no longer qualify for the freebie or the incentive (like accident free reduction rates) you end up paying much higher premiums. While there are a few car insurance companies out there that are good to their word, deciphering between those that offer you great rates and those that offer you good rates with bogus incentives can be frustrating. All marketing campaigns are of course driven to snag in a few more customers. That's what makes the industry work. However, be wary of quick and speedy advertising that looks good in the surface but offers you very few details.

Many car insurance companies offer you perks that sound fantastic. Their advertising gurus did a phenomenal job getting your attention and offering you something that looks and feels like the best thing going. However, the frustration begins once you get a customer service representative on the phone that can't give you direct and open answers to your questions. How are you supposed to be able to determine whether the customer service representative is just under informed (maybe it's her first day on the job) or apathetic (maybe it's his last day on the job) or if the car insurance company is advertising perks that just aren't quite what they seem and putting their customer service representatives in a tight spot when asked for truthful clarification. It has been known to happen and is still happening, especially with the bigger name insurance companies.

If you're looking to save money and keep your car insurance rates at an all time low, the best approach is to muck through all the advertising hype and just compare your basic rates. Many of the smaller insurance companies seems to be able to offer more honest service, giving quotes that reflect your actual needs and then following through with sound coverage, low rates, and equitable customer service. Nobody likes to pay more for car insurance than they have to. In fact, saving money with the right car insurance company is by far of the fastest ways to make sure your bills stay within your budget. Using a high quality car insurance company is the key to ensuring that your coverage is optimum while your wallet doesn't stretch.
